Publishing Policies
Policies governing the preservation, integrity, access, peer review, and post-publication management of scholarly content.
Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy
The International Journal for Research in Medical Science (IJRMS), published by Green Publication Services Private Limited, is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, integrity, and accessibility of its published scholarly content.
To support the long-term preservation of its published content, IJRMS utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed digital preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) for journals operating on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
Through the preservation system, published articles and associated metadata are securely archived to support continued access to the scholarly record. The distributed preservation model is designed to protect journal content against data loss, technical failures, website disruptions, platform changes, and other risks that could affect the availability of published research.
Key objectives of the journal's digital preservation policy include:
- Long-term preservation of published articles and associated metadata
- Secure preservation of scholarly content through distributed digital archiving
- Protection of the published record against data loss and technical disruption
- Support for continued accessibility of published research
- Preservation of the integrity and authenticity of the scholarly record
IJRMS is committed to maintaining appropriate digital preservation arrangements to support the long-term availability of its published scholarly content.
Plagiarism Policy
IJRMS is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity and responsible scholarly publishing.
Plagiarism and other forms of inappropriate use of previously published material are considered serious breaches of publication ethics. This includes, but is not limited to, direct copying, substantial unattributed reproduction, inappropriate paraphrasing, duplicate publication, and reuse of previously published material without appropriate acknowledgement.
All submitted manuscripts may undergo similarity screening using appropriate plagiarism-detection tools as part of the journal's editorial and peer-review procedures. Similarity screening is used as one component of the editorial assessment and does not replace editorial judgment or peer review.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts represent original work and that all sources, ideas, quotations, data, figures, and other materials derived from third parties are appropriately cited and acknowledged.
Where substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct are identified, the journal may reject the manuscript or take other appropriate editorial action. Where concerns are identified after publication, the journal may investigate the matter and, where appropriate, publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction.
IJRMS expects authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold the principles of academic integrity and responsible research and publication practices.
Open Access Policy
The International Journal for Research in Medical Science (IJRMS) follows an open-access publishing model. All articles published by the journal are made freely accessible online to readers without subscription or access fees.
The journal does not impose an embargo on access to published articles. Readers may access the published scholarly content through the journal's online platform in accordance with the applicable licensing terms.
Authors retain copyright in their published work. Articles published by IJRMS are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license.
Under this license, readers may share the published work with appropriate attribution for non-commercial purposes, provided that the work is not modified or adapted.
The journal is committed to maintaining transparency regarding open access, copyright ownership, and licensing conditions. The applicable licensing information is clearly identified on the journal website and within the published articles.
Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal for Research in Medical Science (IJRMS) undergo an initial editorial assessment before being considered for external peer review.
The initial assessment evaluates the manuscript's relevance to the journal's Aim and Scope, basic scholarly and methodological suitability, originality, ethical considerations, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements.
Manuscripts that meet the journal's initial requirements may proceed to the double-blind peer-review process. During double-blind peer review, the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other to support an objective and impartial evaluation.
Manuscripts are evaluated by independent reviewers with appropriate subject expertise. Reviewers are expected to assess the scientific quality, methodological soundness, originality, clarity, relevance, and overall contribution of the submitted work.
The editorial decision may include acceptance, acceptance subject to revision, resubmission for further consideration, or rejection. The final publication decision rests with the journal's editorial team based on the peer-review reports and the overall assessment of the manuscript.
The journal expects all editors and reviewers to maintain confidentiality, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and conduct evaluations fairly and objectively.
Post-Publication Policy
The International Journal for Research in Medical Science (IJRMS) and Green Publication Services Private Limited are committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the published scholarly record.
The journal recognizes that errors, inaccuracies, ethical concerns, or issues relating to published research may occasionally become apparent after publication. When such concerns are identified, IJRMS will assess the matter carefully and take appropriate action based on the nature and significance of the issue.
Post-publication actions may include:
Correction or Erratum — Used to correct an identified error that does not invalidate the overall findings or integrity of the article.
Expression of Concern — May be issued when substantial concerns have been raised but an investigation or assessment is still ongoing.
Retraction — May be considered where serious errors, research misconduct, plagiarism, unreliable findings, or other circumstances substantially undermine the validity or integrity of the published work.
Post-publication decisions are made with the objective of preserving the integrity of the scholarly record and maintaining transparency with readers and the research community. Where appropriate, notices relating to corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions will be linked to the original published article so that the publication record remains clear and transparent.
